We are the San Francisco City Wide Black Student Union. The SF Citywide BSU is an adult ran supported youth-led collaborative that emphasizes on the importance of Black Culture in San Francisco. Our focus is to create awareness and educate ourselves and others by gaining consciousness on being a Black youth in today's society. Our purpose is to be a supportive and networking outlet for Black students by uniting each other not only in words but in action as well. Since there is much division between the school districts, i.e. SFUSD, Catholic schools, Independent schools, and Black students in general, we are here to bridge the gap between the Black students of San Francisco. By supporting each other individually and as a whole, such as attending each other’s BSU events and collaborating together. We are currently planning different activities varying from community service, virtual career fairs, and events simply to connect and understand our students. We aim to represent all schools by coming together and showcasing the young Black excellence of San Francisco students. We ask that if your school has a BSU or black students in general, that you share this information with them and let them know that they can join the San Francisco City Wide BSU and we are excited to hear their ideas.
